Canebrake Community
The lakefront development of Canebrake, at the time of its creation, won the first Southern Homes Award given by Southern Living magazine for Best Residential Development. The award established the master-planned community in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as one of the South’s premier residential communities. Elizabeth Zybeck, AIA, a panel judge for the Southern Homes Award said, “This project is a sensitive architectural response to the environment.”
